Proper management and preservation of trees within the urban fabric requires a reliable and objective system for individualized risk assessment per tree. However, such a system entails significant operational costs that competent authorities or private entities are often unable to bear.
The uTRAST Solution
uTRAST proposes the development of a comprehensive, reliable, and cost-effective system for risk assessment and management of urban green remnants. The system is supported by innovative technologies for recording, storing, and managing georeferenced data.
Work Packages
WP1: Risk Assessment Methodology (Months 1-18)
Leveraging international experience, investigating needs of Greek cities, evaluating innovative technologies, and defining user requirements.
WP2: Information System Development (Months 12-24)
Tree Risk Assessment System, Interactive Map, Citizen Mobile App, Tamper-Proof Mechanism (Blockchain).
WP3: Pilot Application (Months 1-36)
Application in real urban environment, assessment of 400+ trees, evaluation of results, dissemination activities.
